The Helper's Toolkit

“I see John struggling in his marriage and I want to help, but who am I to say anything? I sure don’t have things figured out with mine.”  “How could I talk with Ashley about her kids without coming across as a know-it-all? It’s not really my business anyway.”

Despite seeing needs all around us, we often talk ourselves out of trying to help: we have no counseling degree, little experience, and plenty of problems of our own. Wouldn't they be better served by an expert? Taking the lead from Ed Welch's book, Side by Side, this sermon series explores the Bible's counter-intuitive teaching that needy people are best helped by needy people (like us). Bring a friend and join us Sundays at 10am.
