Psalm 73 - The Goodness of God?

Hands reveal our hearts: we reach for what we need most.

Asaph was a man whose hand stayed outstretched to the Lord. Having seen the height of God's faithful love in the kingdom of Israel, he put out his hand to "shout for joy to God" (Psalm 81:1). But when his world crumbled through unfaithfulness and oppression he found himself raising his hand to the sky for a different reason: "In the day of my trouble I seek the Lord; in the night my hand is stretched out without wearying" (Psalm 77:2). In America today, followers of Christ have moved from a respected majority to a disparaged minority, exposing them to the same heat and trouble as Asaph. His psalms now give voice to both their praise and prayer, and call them once again to "set their hope in God" (Psalm 78:7).

Join us for our new series through the Psalms of Asaph as we stretch out our hands together. Sundays at 10 and in small groups.
